You can improve the lapis if you do this: take your red king and grind it to powder, put it again into a phial, pour your liquor on what is needed for the substance to reach a creamy texture, and warm it by making it through all colors: This is a shorter process, however: you have to adjust the degrees of warmth to the colors that appear. I advise you not to soak-wet the matter too much and not heat it up too fast. By repeating this process till consuming all the liquor, you will make fixed the blessed stone of the wise masters.
But even better is the following method: Take four drams of your liquor and dissolve a dram of very well-calcined gold in it. Pour this solution and pass through all colors. It is safer because it is moistened with a fiery red liquor.
And if you want to go even faster, take your demi-fixed crystals (sal sapientiae) and divide them into two equal parts. But before that, you need to unite their fiery red sulfur solution with them, as I taught. Then close in a phial one part of the crystals, after having broken four drams of them (half an ounce) and along with a dram (1 / 8 of an ounce) of pure gold, well calcined and ground, and pass through all colors. When the tincture has become stable, take it, grind it up to a powder, and add a dram of fresh crystals. Put it all again in a phial and let it go through colors. When the substance is solid-fixed again, grind a new dram of crystals, Mix it with all, and repeat. Go on like that until all the salt consumes, so you’ll have the lapis medicinalis.
Now, if you want it to acquire metallic properties, take a metal whatever, grind to powder, put it in an alembic, and pour it over an ultra-rectified spirit of wine, extract, pour the whole bright solution in a clean glass, and distill from it the entire wine spirit, in the end, it remains only a red powder. Put this in a clean phial and let it go through colors in our athanor for four weeks, after which you will get a red carbuncle (as the image at the top). Remove the glass from heat, and in your hand, you will have the holy stone of the wise masters, which shines as a carbuncle”.
Now we will deal with the earth, as even from it with operations even more approximate one can achieve the stone of the wises. The earth is hidden from the father, who generates all things.
From the earth have been born boughs and herbs.
But if you want to follow a quicker method and get an amount of spiritus universalis mundi balsamicus even greater, do the following: in the middle of May, go in a field, a vineyard, lawn feet, dig up a pit deep as least as 2 feet till to get to the red clay. Take away up to 10-12 quintals of that earth spread in a suitable place as the sky and asters will act on it. If the weather is fine, let it be uncovered for fourteen days and nights; if instead, it rains, cover well with straw or green boughs. The best thing would be to carry it indoors and then spread it outdoors in a clean place. You can build a structure on which, in the case of rain, it could be covered with wood boards. The fourteen days past, when the air and sky have penetrated the earth with themselves, put it in vessels and cover.
Then take some wooden barrels like those used for saltpeter, and fit their interiors with a straw set. Additionally, they should have some holes well closed by plugs. Put into a part of your earth and pour over as much rainwater as required by the earth. Let it react for 48 hours so it can absorb the pure salt of the earth. Then remove the plug to a hole and let dripping little by little in a wooden container, as it is used to do with leach; keep it carefully this leach. Pour into the barrel other clean water, let react on the earth, this one too for some time, then remove the plug from another hole. Spill the earth out, put back other earth in the barrel, and pour over the water which has been poured over it for the second time, but with the addition of fresh rainwater. It is necessary to have a good supply of rainwater in a clean container, as you will need a certain quantity. Let it again to react for 48 hours, then remove the plug to a hole and keep this leach. Repeat till you have treated in this way all your earth. Then take a copper cauldron, pour it into the leach, and boil until its quantity is reduced to 3/4. Replace the lost quantity with fresh leach. Repeat this operation, always replacing the fourth leach that gets lost in cooking fresh leach. When you have all well cooked, pour the leach into another copper cauldron and put it on the earth in a cold place. Let rest for some days, so if you have performed good cooking, a salt like saltpeter will deposit, which doesn’t burn like common saltpeter. Decant the leach and have it further cooked, wait for the salt to be formed, and collect it. Treat the liquor like that until all the crystals have been formed. Then liquefy, filter, coagulate, and crystallize these crystals with either dew or distilled rainwater till they become very beautiful, very transparent, and very crystalline; so you will have the sal terrae virginiae or nitrum philosophorum, which hovers in the world sea, the water which doesn’t wet hands, the real sal sapientiae without that one cannot do anything.
Then take one pound of your sal naturae, have it ground in a glass mortar reducing in powder, and mix in it the same quantity of its earth, that’s to say of the earth from which it has been extracted, but this earth must get red hot before, wet it with distilled rainwater and make some spheres, place them under the sun and have them repeatedly wet with distilled rainwater as the spiritus aeris can drop in it even more. After four weeks, take these spheres, put them into a resistant and well-circled retort, fill it half, place the retort in a good oven, set a large, resistant, and clean gathering container, and distill a spiritus salis volatilis; move in the gathering container even that which deposits in the retort neck. Do the same with all the spheres to get a lot of sal volatilis et spiritus. Then take all the distilled, put it in a high alembic, and gently distill all the phlegm in the water bath. When no more phlegm rises, put the alembic in cinders, distill the spiritus, pour it in the alembic cohobating over and over, and keep it in a clean glass. Then increase the heat, so sal volatilis rises in the alembic and gets sublimed. It would be best if you repeatedly sublimed alone until the alembic will not appear and residue any faece, keep with care also this.
Then take your caput mortuum and extract from it with distilled rainwater a sal fixus, which you must liquefy and repeatedly coagulate until it gets clean and transparent. Grind these crystals till powder and put them in a high alembic, pour over as much spirit as is the sal volatilis, and let to digest together till all is transformed into the water; in this way, the menstruum universalis is ready. When the whole is transformed into water, you can also pour it in a retort and super distill and cohobate per gradus till all is risen: in this way, it is ready.
Then take two ounces of this menstruum and one dram (1/8 of an ounce) of pure gold well calcined, put together in a small alembic, and make them digest well closed, so the gold melts as ice in warm water, but let in the bottom grey earth. Separate the clear solution from the earth, which must have a gold look, and pour it in a transparent and resistant phial. But 2/3 of the phial should be empty. Close it hermetically through fusion or, in another way, place it – in the name of God – in our athanor at moderate heat for forty days and forty nights till everything gets putrefied and becomes black, the black called our philosophical crow head. Then put the glass in cinders, increases the fire by a degree, and let for forty days and forty nights. The heat should match that produced on the roof tiles by the July sun. So all the peacock colors will appear. Then for forty days and forty nights, increase the heat by a degree, and be careful the glass doesn’t turn red hot; in this way, your tincture will turn as white as snow, and the moon will start to appear, like a white silver coin. Then have the glass sunk even more and increase the heat for twenty-five days and twenty-five nights, making it red hot; so it will turn red. Keep this heat for another twenty-five days and twenty-five nights so that it will turn blue-red, and it will clot in the middle of the glass as egg yolk; it will be transparent as ruby, and around excrement will separate; in this way, you will have the real quinta essentia, better the real semen auri ( seed of gold). In this way, you have again prepared the blessed stone of the ancient, whose you can perform miracles in medicine and operating on the mercurius vivus and other metals. You have to know further that here, as I have taught you, you have the real menstruum universalis, which is sweet and not corrosive, and these are the most important liquors – extracted both from the earth and rain – to get to the philosophical king.
With the above-mentioned menstruum, you can extract the tincture from the white mineral gold and the mineral red gold. You can put the extracted in an alembic and, from it distilling the menstruum again, a substance of the consistency of a thick oil will residue, which at cold temperature will tend to harden like the cooked sugar. Put this matter into a well-circled retort, place the report on a sand bath, and gather a distilled set in a clear glass gathering container. When yellow drops start to pass, and white spirit appears, the oil rises too. Then set a large gathering, sold it well, and carefully set the fire, so the spirits don’t do not crack the container. When both spirits and oil have passed, a black matter will residue. In the end, don’t increase the fire too much to avoid losing any matter. Pour in a phial both the spiritus and oil and put them in a stem balneum so the liquor will get limpid, a part of the oil will float, and the other will deposit, separate these two parts with a funnel because this is the blood, and keep all carefully.
Then take the black residue and get it calcined; mind it should not liquefy but become white and turn into cinders. take a part of these cinders and pour over a quantity of your spirit corresponding to three times its weight, let to digest together into a retort in a sand balneum, and distill little by little. In the end, increase the fire slightly; in this way, the oil rises as red blood with the grey earth; this blood joined with his white woman, is called man or sulfur, and has become a powerful medicine called aurum potable, which keeps the man healthy. And a single drop removes goiter, fistulas, stroke, and other diseases.
Then go as the following: pour all this oil, heavy like lead, together in a phial, add one ounce of very subtle calx of pure gold, and place well closed in cinders heated with first-degree fire. You will see the gold going up and down; the gold will open and become a black mass. Eventually, all the colors will pass, and you shall be able to set all the heat degrees according to the colors. If you correctly work, the operation must overall last thirty weeks long. In the end, a fixed red stone will form. Unfasten it, take a part of the stone and four parts of purified mercury, and put them together in a phial; before, you have to grind your medicine till powder. Close well the phial, place in sand balneum and heat for four weeks. This way, the tincture will liquefy, incorporate the mercury, and turn it into a red powder. So you will get a tincture before you ferment with gold, and then you can have it act on imperfect metals. Nevertheless, to know how you can prepare a tincture even starting from the vegetal reign, particularly from the grapevine, hear how you should operate:
Inexhaustible
is the power of the Highest, and if the same had not created the grapevine, in the art, many things would lack, as in the wine, a great mysterium is hidden. Wine makes us forget our pains and delight the heart with the golden sulfur that it brings along. The wine takes effect on the spirit. So starting from wine one can get prepare a great mysterium.
Consequently, pay attention to the following: take some good old wine which has to be strong, have much spirit, have come to age, and be clear and limpid. So take some 24-30 measures of this wine. Put in into large alembics, keep them carefully, and let putrefy for a month at a moderate heat. In the month past, set gathering containers, sold very well, and started to operate distilling one-third. Then put the alembics in a warm place for fourteen days and fourteens nights. Has the spirit rectified seven times till he becomes so volatile and deprived of phlegm that it flies away in the air or burns without leaving residues, then keep it in a cold place inside a large clean glass.
Then take your alembics and put them in balneum mariae again, set a gathering container, and begin to distill. This way, a volatile vinegar will rise; take just a fourth to leave into the alembic three fourth and keep the distilled carefully. Keep all the residuals together in an alembic and distill until it residues a juice as thick as honey. Pour it in a retort, place in a sand balneum, set a gathering container, and distill all that wants to pass but a brown salt. Add the distilled to the volatile vinegar and repeatedly distill together in the sand till all the phlegm has been separated; first, a volatile azoth always rises, then the phlegm, and lastly, the oily vinegar. When it has to eliminate all the phlegm, keep that also. Take off the caput mortuum from the retort and get calcined just a little; then take it, put it into an alembic, and pour the phlegm over, as much as to extract all the salt. Place the extracted into an alembic and distill all the phlegm till the residues are white salt. Put this salt in a large alembic with a bit of phlegm so it liquefies. Add all the vinegar and the rectified spirit, close the alembic well, and place at a moderate heat to coagulate well. Then place this alembic in a cold place in the humid sand and make it rest; in this way, crystals will form. Distill partially the residual liquid in the water bath to form other crystals. Add to these the previous ones, and repeat the operation until all the crystals form. Add a small quantity of phlegm to these, so they don’t liquefy in it. heat at a moderate fire for four days and four nights, then pour the clear solution into a clean alembic. Place it well closed in the cold sand to have other crystals formed much more beautifully than before. Take them, distill them partially in the water bath distilled residual, and put the residual in the cellar again, so you have other crystals. When all the crystals have been formed, take them, have them liquefied again in your spiritual phlegm, and let other crystals form; in this way, they become very pure, like a diamond. So you have carried out the operation again and have the lapis medicinalis again.
With that vitriolum vegetabile, you can go as the following: take these crystals, crush them, grind them, put them in a phial, seal it, and place them in a steam balneum till they liquefy, becoming a liquor. In this liquor, melt some pure and well-ground gold, set in the proportion of one ounce and 1/2 of liquor and one dram (1/8 of an ounce) of gold. Pour this solution into a phial, seal it, and place it in our scalable athanor. Let the color pass till the substance clots in a red carbuncle, so you have the lapis medicinalis of the second order. With the liquor, if you want, you can improve your tincture by grinding it very well, putting it in a phial again, and pouring over the quantity of liquor adequate to get a creamy texture. Allow again the color to pass in the athanor. So you can repeat this operation countless times to make the mysterium more penetrant.
You can also pour your liquor on mercury, so it will be able to open the mercury, and in the bottom, some feces will deposit. With that liquor and gold, you can go as I taught you; in this way, you obtain the lapis medicinalis of the third order.
But if the time for the transformation of the crystal may seem too long for you, do the following: take your crystals, grind them till powder, and take some dry clay, leach and burn, mixed to the salt, and wet all with the spiritual phlegm that I have said to set aside and do some little balls, when they are well dried filled a retort with them, place in a sand bath and fit a large gathering container: When all is dry, increase the heat little by little for 48h; the first and second degree you must go very carefully, instead, in the end, you can significantly increase the fire. So you get a penetrant spirit. Remove the gathering container as long as it is warm, plug it soon, and place it in a cool place. Then take the caput mortuum, leach all the salt, filter it, and let it evaporate till it is very pure. When it is dry put it in a phial, pour over the fiery super distilled liquor, close the phial, and place it in a steam bath for fourteen days and fourteen nights; so the salt will liquefy. So you have again a universal liquor which you can use as the previous, which is the fastest method overall.
Now, if after having taken two drams of your lapis medicinalis vegetabilis, two drams of the lapis medicinalis microcosmi ( extracted from the blood), and two drams of the lapis medicinalis macrocosmi, all three of the first order, after having ground them together and having transformed them in liquor in the steam bath, melt in them some gold, pour the clear solution in a phial, have it sealed and let pass the whole through the colors and will achieve the mysterium magnum. This real quintessence can renovate the human body, as you will mainly be taught in the right place.
If instead you cannot take any of your philosophers’ stones of the first order, take one dram from each of your lapis of the second order, grind them together, put them in a phial and pour on an over-rectified spirit of wine. Then pour all the clear extracted into a small alembic, set the helm and gathering container, and distill the whole at moderate heat till a red power will residue. In the end, slightly increase the fire so the mass will clot; this is medicine more powerful than the precedent. here you have a treasure that can deeply renovate you because it enters the bone marrow and can strengthen your spirit and mind, making it able to read the inner of the created things and operate wonders in magic and other things.
